ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP:

The Wood Ducks and Divers experience combines two diverse and remarkable locations. The first location offers three sessions capturing species such as American Wigeon, Canvasbacks, Redheads, Greater and Lesser Scaup, and more. Additional species could include more waterfowl, including swans, Snow Geese, and various owls.

Joe brings years of experience at this location, which provides a unique opportunity to photograph diving waterfowl—species typically found far from shore—up close and personal.

The second half of the workshop takes participants on a 90-minute drive to a new location, where the focus shifts to Wood Ducks. Here, participants will photograph Wood Ducks during two morning sessions and might have the opportunity to capture Belted Kingfishers fishing and interacting with their mates. The afternoon sessions will vary based on migration patterns and weather conditions. Clients could photograph Snow Geese, Bald Eagles, Ospreys, or other species.

Joe’s long-standing relationship with this location provides unparalleled access to wildlife, and the use of a custom-designed blind ensures that participants can photograph the elusive Wood Duck in its natural habitat. The remote location, along with expert techniques, offers a rare opportunity for extraordinary wildlife photography.

This “Best of Both Worlds” workshop offers a comprehensive field experience, with a primary focus on breeding ducks, culminating with the chance to photograph the elusive and beautiful Wood Duck.

Included: Photographic instruction; six sessions in the field shooting (location to be determined by the weather and migration reports).

Not Included: Travel to Maryland, hotels, meals, personal items.
